Fire Tower Challenge
One of the unique challenges while hiking in the Adirondack Mountains is the Fire Tower Challenge. The Fire Tower Challenge is a chance for hikers to climb most of the mountains that have fire towers on top of them. To qualify for the challenge, a hiker must climb 18 out of the 23 fire towers in the Adirondacks and 5 fire towers in the Catskills.
